Anyone know George Pelecanos?

Question: Anyone know George Pelecanos!?

He is a very good friend of my family, I play sports with his son, and my brother plays sports with his other son, and he goes to our church!. I talk to him all the time about his writing and so maybe Ill be like an unbelievably good writer like him!. Anyway who has read any of his books!? Which one is the best!? I don't know him personally!. I know his work, but I have not read them all!. I like everything of his that I've read but as far as recommending a title I would say start at the beginning!. He builds such an amazing world in his books that if you read a bunch of them in a row you end up feeling like you know the people and the streets of D!.C, even if you've never been out of the upper Midwest!. I would read them purely chronologically, regardless of which character or set of characters is featured!.

If I were young and wasn't necessarily familiar with the music he used to set the scene and the tone I would also spend some time looking that up and listening to it, preferably as I was reading the book!.

I think Pelecanos is one of the best authors of his type of fiction working today and you cannot possibly go wrong reading his work!. I fully intend to own his complete works one day!. He reads like genre but is actually literature, and I mean that as the highest compliment!.

As an aside, if you like him you might also enjoy Dennis Lehane, Richard Price and John Sandford!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
