My favorite thing to do when I have writer's block is think of two completely different movies and swap characters!.

Then I'd write about what they would do, their reactions, what would happen!.

Now, it does not mean this will be my story!. What this does is wake up my muse!.

Sometimes it takes something absurd to get my muse to wake up and start talking to me, if that makes sense!.

Some examples:
What if Harry Potter suddenly popped up in a scene in Live Free Or Die Hard!? How would John McClane react to a bespeckled kid in a black cape waving a wand at him!?

What if Darth Vader was plopped into Narnia and had to battle Aslan the Lion!? Who would win!?

Write about that!. Soon your muse will tell you what it wants you to write!.

I also love to write!. Every writer will experience dry spells!. Don't be discouraged and don't let other people discourage you!. Walking away from a project for a couple of days usually helps me!. The more I stress about it the harder it is to come up with any good ideas!. Try this:

Take a couple of days off!.
Find a time when you can be by yourself!.
Lock yourself in a dark room and light a candle!.
Take several deep breaths and look up at the ceiling!.
Let your mind wander freely while focusing your eyes on the flickering light from the candle!.

This helps ease my mind and when I just let my brain wander all kinds of crazy things enter into it and before I know it some interesting concept will emerge from the craziness!.

I really recommend NaNoWriMo for making you keep writing even when your mind is blank!. You'll find the ideas pop up out of nowhere as you write!.

It also helps with the self-doubt!. The whole point is quantity and not quality - you relax and just write!. You usually find your writing is a lot better than you expect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey don't worry! Think simple!.

You don't have to write interesting things!. Look around, you'll find plenty of idea!. Look simple, common people's liefs!. Because there is life and it continuous!. And everybody has a story!.

If you can't think of anything, you shouldn't write!. Think of an idea that's your own, that allows you room to move!.
Getting plot from here, means you have a fixed way to move, and you might not understand what is happening!. Write, an idea you think of, something that interest you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's nothing new under the sun!. Write about something you want to say something about -- that's the key to a great novel!. If you can't come up with a new idea yourself, you probably shouldn't write!. I know this from experience, because I used to have the same problem and then I tried to use other ideas but I got more stuck than before!
