Your sentence is not actually a sentence but rather is a phrase!. Write, for instance: A day fraught with such "patriotic" events as holiday sales (since it is the actual day of Fourth of July, you would not want to say post-holiday sales), the obligatory fast-food barbecue, as opposed to the more delicious homemade variety, followed eventually, of course, by an evening of fireworks in the park, beset there by the crowds of people and mosquitos, (then you need a predicate in order to have a sentence; you could write:) such is the usual Fourth of July as celebrated by my family!. Technically!? No, it's not grammatically correct!. There's no verb!. To rewrite it, you'd need to add one (for example, "It was a day beset with!.!.!.")!. Of course, if it's written in an informal setting where complete sentences aren't required, then it doesn't matter!.

You might also want to indicate that your use of "patriotic" is ironic by using quotes or the term "so-called!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

For one thing, it is an incomplete sentence!. It leaves one wondering, "what about it!?'

Another point is that it does not make sense!. I don't see anything patriotic about post-holiday sales or store bought BBQ or fireworks!.

I thought fireworks WERE for holidays (Fourth of July), so why would it be a post-holiday event!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
