Question: Why do guys hate the book Twilight!?

One of my friends told me that Twilight is trash, absolute trash!.

How can you hate it!? It's so romantic! I know that no guy in real life is ever that perfect, so why can't I read it and dream about meeting someone that understanding!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't care if you read it and go off in your little fantasies, I just hate how people act like it's the best thing ever, AND get defensive about it!. It's obviously poorly written material, an unoriginal plot(a sexy vampire who hates himself!? nope, never seen that before), a poor climax, a gay resolution and sequels that just kept getting worse!. And the Twilighters get incredibly defensive if you say one bad thing about their book that's obviously trash!. At least you can admit to it being impossible and admit you like it for the fantasy value, a lot of Twlighters know that's the truth but won't admit to it out of pride and that's why they get defensive about it!.

PS Stephenie Meyer is NOT the new JK Rowling!.

Romantic!? You say a whiny, immature girl loves a vampire abuser/stalker (and vice versa) because it's true love!? Nope!. Bella loves Edward because he's "gorgeous" and Edward loves Bella because of her blood!. But now that she's a vampire, Edward also loves her because of her looks!. Haven't you noticed that Bella never asked Edward what his hobbies or interests are!? It's all about sex and kissing for horny Bella Cullen!

Breaking Dawn was the worst book I've ever read!. It's like a bunch of fanfics mixed together! Everyone got what they wanted, no sacrifice!. Happily ever after!. Sick, that's what it is!. It's a fluffy crap novel now!. Stephenie is a sap!. She thinks it's always unicorns and rainbows!. I don't f*cking care if she "writes for herself!." Fact is, when you're an author of a book so popular, you know you're not writing for yourself anymore!. It's too sugar-coated sweet for my taste!.

please!. that romance is about as cheesy as those parts in 'star wars attack of the clones' when anakin declares his love for padme!. certainly, some of the fault was hayden christiansen, whose performance of anakin was indeed laughable in more ways than one, but we all know that george lucas cannot write romance!.

so for me to compare what's supposed to be a romance to george lucas, it must be pretty darn bad!.

sorry, i don't think that being a guy's brand of heroin is romantic!. neither is falling in love in all of five minutes!. no lasting relationship can just start immediately!. it takes time to built trust and respect, not just obsession!.

and it's not romantic for me when the 'heroine' can't do a thing on her own, not without her handsome strong vampire to lean on!. it's not romantic when a guy emotionally abuses a girl completely dependent on him!.

When we're children, girls are given barbies, guys are given trucks and soldiers!.!.!. when we're teenagers, girls obsess over romance, guys obsess over cars and girls!.!.!. but NOT in such a romantic way, lol!.

there are some exceptions, but MOST of them are messed up from the double-standards of our upbringing!.!.!. the REASON we all love Edward so much is because he's so unrealistic!.!.!. not only is he rare enough to be a vampire, rare enough to fall for a human, but also rare enough to be kind, caring sensitive, and willing to DIE if he can't have the woman he loves!. Exactly, that's why "guys" hate it, they are probably jealous of how most girls are in love with perfect guys like Edward!. Plus knowing guys, they don't understand as well the depth of the romance and a love between a guy and girl, especially one like Edward's and Bella's!. i love twilight and i'm being absolutely honest when i say its popularity is growing incredibly fast!. i don't know how any girl could not like the twilight saga, but i guess guys aren't into all the romance!. maybe guys aren't looking for the perfect guy(edward), but the perfect girl!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

not all guys do, i saw a lot of guys at the midnight party for breaking dawn which meant they were fans of the series!. and some guys dont go for the lovy gushy stuff u no, theyr guys and i think it wod maybe ruin their image or sumthin!. idk!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
