Question: For people who like to READ (more than the Twilight series)!?
Okay!. I'm supposed to read a book for my English class (11th grade) that I've never read before!. But here's the thing: I'm crazy picky!. I love 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath!. And, as gay as it is, I like vampire novels!.!.!. But not baby-vamp stories like the Cirque du Freak series!.!.!. Serious ones!.!.!.
I love Stephen King, but I've read everything by him!. I'm wierd; and I NEED HELP!

Anyone have any recommendations for me!? I'd appreciate it!.!.!. alot!.

Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you might like the weird fiction of Robert Aickman!. Most (and certainly the best) of his work was short stories!. Any collection would do!. There's a "Best of" selection called *The Wine Dark Sea*, with an excellent introduction by Peter Straub, who just adores Aickman's work!.

If you've read so much Stephen King, you know who Peter Straub is, right!?

If not, maybe you should just read Peter Straub!.

PS: *The Secret History* is by Donna Tartt!. I think that's a very good suggestion too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I'm in love with the author Christine Feehan!. She has a whole series about sexy vampires (who are called Carpathians), who have to find their soul mate or else they'll turn evil!. The series is called the Dark Series!. Filled with lots of adventure and steamy hotness!. This book is rated R! All of the guys are way hot and pretty bossy!.

The first book in the series is called "Dark Prince!." Here's the back cover:

"He came to her in the night, a predator -- strength and power chiseled his features!. The seduction was deep and elemental; he affected her soul!. His need!. His darkness!. His terrible haunting loneliness!. Her senses aroused, she craved the dangerous force of his body!. Burned for him!. And he had only touched her with his mind!.

She came to him at dawn, his bleakest hour!. As the beast raged inside him, threatening to consume him, he vented his centuries-old despair in an anguished cry that filled the waning night!. And she answered, a ray of light, piercing his darkness!. A beautiful angel!. Her compassion, courage, and innocence awakened in him an exquisite longing and tenderness!. He knew he must possess her, for only she could tame his savage side and lift the dark shadow from his soul!. Apart they were desolate, bereft!. Intertwined physically and spiritually, they could heal one another and experience an eternity of nights filled with love!."--Christine Feehan
