Lemuel Gulliver, a ship's doctor, has mishaps aboard ship that end up with him in the drink and washed up on the shores of strange lands several times!.

In each of these lands, he interacts with the mysterious inhabitants, learns their ways, and comes away with a different point of view of his own civilization!.

He visits the land of the Lilliputians, little people who are at war with their neighbors the Blefescuans, over which end of the egg to break when you're cracking eggs to make breakfast!.

He ends up in the land of the Brobdingnagians, gentle giants who have a court full of fops and dandies and perverts!.

He goes to the lands ruled by the Laputans, people who delve into weird science!.

He is captured by intelligent horses, and sees how contemptible his own species (yahoos) can be!.
