Let me first make the point that Margaret Atwood is not primarily a writer of science fiction and I have never once seen her compared to either Heinlein or to Ursula K!. Le Guin!. In fact a Heinlein comparison is really very shallow if not, in fact, ludicrous!.

Atwood has admitted to having been influenced by John Wyndham, in the way in which he divided women into "breeders and leaders"!.
I have heard her compared to Angela Carter, in her early work, at least!. also to, I believe, Sarah Waters and Peter Carey!. Perhaps further research on those authors would prove useful to you!.

I honestly do not recall hearing any authors compared to her, though I am sure it has been done, probably often, and with varying degrees of accuracy!. Atwood is nothing if not a complex and multi-dimensional author who is ill-served by oversimplification, much less by being judged on two or three works out of her astonishing oeuvre!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Inevitably, any female science fiction author is compared to Ursala Le Guin!.
