I don't know enough about his place in politics or history to like/dislike/approve/disapprove of his humanity, but I always love his essays!. The craft of his writing is a pleasure to read!. So, I guess we come to the question put by another famous essayist: Do we need to know whom a work is authored by!? I don't think so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For what this is worth, my husband, who has a Ph!. D!. in mathematics, calls him a philosopher, and a friend with an undergraduate major in philosophy calls him a mathematicisn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
