The second book is "Old Bear" by Jane Hissey
"Kirkus Reviews /* Starred Review */ Some well-loved toys mount a rescue effort to retrieve Old Bear from the attic, where he was stored because the children were too rough and he needed somewhere safe till they got a little older!. Reaching the ceiling trapdoor is a challenge!. Duck, Rabbit, Bramwell Brown and Little Bear try stacking books, stacking themselves, and climbing the philodendron before solving the problem with the help of a toy airplane and handkerchief parachutes!. Their gentle persistence and cooperation, expressed in economical, lucid language with a glint of humor and the cadence of real speech, are rewarded by reunion with a grateful if dusty Old Bear, who's found reading old books!. Hissey's lovingly depicted toys are as gentle and unsentimental as her text!. Old Bear, especially, is a threadbare treasure; the group drawing close in the joy of reunion makes a touching portrait!. A book that should be treasured as long as all the old bears!.

Edit: The first book sounds like "The Case of the Double Bumblebee Sting (Hank the Cowdog)" by John R Ericson

"This review is from: The Case of the Double Bumblebee Sting (Hank the Cowdog) (Audio CD)
I would recommend Hank the Cow Dog Case of the Double Bumblebee Sting because it's funny!. Hank thinks two bumblebees have bitten him but it ends up that it was a rattlesnake!. His face swells up like a balloon!. He says, "It weighs 250 pounds"!. Drover keeps on saying that it was a rattlesnake, but Hank will be Hank - stubborn as a donkey!. Hank keeps on saying, "it was 2 bumblebees in that pipe"!. Drover just goes with the flow and says "OK"!. "

A Kid's Review

This book is about a dog named Hank!. Hank lives on a ranch, and is head of ranch security!. Drover is another dog that live on the ranch!. In this book Hank gets bit by a rattlesnake, but he thinks it's a bumble bee!. Sally May his owner takes him to the vet to get a shot!. In the end Hank finally get's better!. I reccomend this because it's funny and thrilling to read!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
