i absolutely love reading!
but i think people don't like reading because they have trouble getting into it!.
they cant really imagine it like they would if they were just watching tv!.

I've always wondered this too !. I have found though that if a person can actually read its just a matter of finding something they are interested in !. For example my brother gets bored even reading the paper but give him a technical car manual and he'll read it cover to cover !. I think it comes from those crappy books we had to read at school , if books were given to kids based on their interests alot more people would appreciate reading !. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can not understand either! I can't imagine not living without reading!. And most of my friends don't like to read!. I ask them why- they say they think reading is stupid, it's just looking at words on paper, They don't understand it when I'm obsessed with a character from a book, or terribly sad if they die(It's just ink on paper!Calm down! they say)!. *sigh* And I don't understand when they would rather watch the movie than read the book it's based on, the book is always, always much better!.
However I've convinced my friend to start reading when I actually paid her to read a book(it was the first out of school book she read), and she's started reading every day now!. :D hehe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have people in my family myself included who read at least 3 novels a week!. I always have a book with me because it seems I am always waiting for someone, in line at the bank or Doctors office ect!. I think some people just need to get into the habit of taking books with them for that down time!. also some people have a difficult time reading because their level of reading is at a grade school level!. Ok, this is what I heard an otherwise smart senior in high school once tell me when I asked him why he never read books that weren't mandatory for class: "If the book is any good, someone will make a movie out of it and I'll just go see the movie!. Why should I waste my time reading the book when I can spend just 2 hours seeing the movie!?"

Yeah, real lame and real stupid!. But I also know people who don't read well enough to get the rhythm of the story, who struggle so badly just reading the words that they never get the context of the book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that the people who don't like to read are the ones who when are asked to read in class either read slow or stumble over the words!. Making them feel stupid and making them not all that motivated to read!. Its just something I noticed!.

I love to read!!!!!!!!!! If you ask me people just don't take the time to give reading a try!. Because when I was little I hated to read! But now I can't see myself not read! First rule about reading is, (1) Find a book that fits your interest, and (2) Don't give up on it just by reading the first sentence!

Sometimes I find that it's hard to start reading a new book, since the beginning of books are generally pretty boring!. Once I get past about the first 50 pages, I love reading!. I think some people just don't have the patience for it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it has to do with television!. It's easier to watch a TV show than it is to visualize what's happening in a story!. For some, at least!.

Personally, I adore reading!. My brother hates it!. Yet he loves soap operas--which I cannot stand!.

Cause it's not interesting!. If a book starts out "the dog ran down the road" I am bored and will stop reading it!. However, if the book starts out "it was a dark storming night, after the lights went out a knock on the door was heard" that would keep my interest!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've known a few people who have actually fallen asleep while reading!. I believe they find something relaxing about the experience!. I've also known people who don't like to read because they are too active and can't sit still for long stretches of time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is hard for some people!. Reading is easy for me, and I enjoy it, but math is difficult!. So doing a Rubik's cube, for example, would not be at all enjoyable for me!. People just have different talents and hobbies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with you 100%!. Reading indulges your imagination!. Anyone who doesn't like reading obviously has a monochrome personality or hasn't been outside their front door in three years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe they haven't yet been exposed to the genre they would like most!. I have found that to be the case with many!. (That or they'd rather be on the computer in their spare time)!.
