It takes place on a Vermont Sheep farm!. So grassy, rolling hills, country, wide open, sheep etc!. The main character Nyle's cousing has radiation posioning, as well as the son of the women that her grandmother takes in to care for!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was written in a setting of the aftermath of a chemical leak of some kind in a small town in Vermont!. Read up on Chernobyl to familiarize yourself with the effects of radiation poisoning!. In the book, many people were ill and hospitals were packed with people sick from radio-active chemical poisoning!.!.!. so the general environment was bleak and dead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
