Question: Non-Twilight vampire books!?
I have been wanting to write a young-adult novel for a while now, and one topic that interests me is vampires!.

One thing that worries me is the popularity of those Twilight books!. The truth is that I've never read them!. I only got through the first couple chapters in the first book and had to stop, because the writing was so terrible!.

But a lot of people like those books, and if another book about vampires came out, would people be interested, or would they just blow it off as a Twilight rip-off!? Just something i have been wondering!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, in all honesty, Twilight could be called a rip off of all the other vampire series that exist because it's about vampires and usually about romance!. And I agree with you on the writing of Twilight; reason why I couldn't get through them, too!. So, to your question, I had the same worries about the novel that I've been working on for the past few years, way before I'd even heard of Twilight!. It's about vampires and I was worried that, now that Twilight has hit cult status, it would be unreasonable to even consider writing another vampire book!. But, it's my opinion that an author writes for himself/herself first off!. So if you want to write about vampires, then nothing should stop you!. Selling the book is up to the agents and the publishers!. Just get your part done, and let the professionals at the business worry about the rest!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it depends on the plot!.!.!. for example, Evernight (another book about vampires by Claudia) seems a lot like the plot of Twilight (if you read the description) but I heard it has twists and all!.!.!. Yes, Twilight does seem like it's been written by an amateur, but that's only because it's Stephanie Meyer's very first book!. However, her writing REALLY improves, especially in Breaking Dawn!. I recommend that you read the Twilight series to determine if the plot of your story is similar or not!. That way you know for sure what people are going to think!. also look into Evernight (or its description should be sufficient) Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, i love the Twilight saga!. if another vampire book came out, some fans probably would say it was a rip-off, others wouldn't!. It depends on if they used the same myths, like twilight's vegitarian vampires, sparkling in the sun, eyes that change color when they are hungry, no sleeping, ect!. if that happened, then yes we would blow it off as a rip offWww@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with twilight freak! The reason every1 loves these bks is bcuz young adults can relate to it! C'mon what teen wouldnt love a book about a hott 17 year old vampire who saves lives instead of taking them!?!?!? She really hit the core of what young ppl want 2 hear- that ordinary girls like Bella Swan have a chance with gorgeous fantasies like Edward Cullen!
When u write a book the point is to reach out 2 the particular age group and give them something 2 relate to,to catch their attention and i must say edward certainly does that! He's quite breathtaking in some pieces of the book! he hits quite close 2 what the perfect man is for most ppl and that catches their attention!
But i must say some of the details were quite ingenious such as the golden eyes! breaking dawn was a fiting conclusion 2 a thrilling saga worth reading- at least to us teens
There are other vamp novelists but they usually reach out to an older crowd eg!. anne rice whose novels are mostly x rated!. and we all know that the power is with the youths nowadaysWww@QuestionHome@Com
