I believe that older people underestimate young people, and young people are capable of doing this equal to and better then some adults!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A twelve year old may be capable of writing a novel, but I don't believe they would have the patience to, not only write it in the first place, but then work with it enough and go through the many drafts needed to finally create a good book!. It's a lot of work and I think a twelve-years-old's time is better spent learning how to become a better writer!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some things only come with age!. Authors get their voice and style from experience, and I don't think a 12 year old has that!. Not that I don't think there aren't talented 12 year olds!. I know there are!. But I think that their talent isn't fully developed!. For instance, if you throw a fully grown bird out of the nest along with a baby bird, which one will soar!?

Most people, at this point, would bring up some famous child authors!. I've read books by a couple of teenage authors, and they aren't very good!. The whole time I'm reading, I think, "Man, if only they had waited a few more years!."

Yes, 12 year olds have talent!. No, they shouldn't get published!. Age will refine their writing style!. Age gives them experience!. No matter how much talent you have, no matter how smart you are, you won't have experience until you're older!.

And you can't say I don't take my own advice!. I'm under eighteen, therefore I refuse to send a book out for publication!. Why!? Because understand that authors need more experience than I have!. Patience is a virtue, and I'm willing to wait for my dreams!. It will only make them better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really depends!.
When I was 12, I got published in the paper and a book!. Now, I doubt they could write a successful novel, but they could probably write a good short story!. Short stories are not as complicated and don't require as much commitment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are in every way capable of writing a book at 12!. I wrote one one I was 10! If you have a good imagination and can string words together to make the story, then I believe you can do it at any age!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course ! I don't know if you heard of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes shes an author for these fantasy books!. She started writing books when she was 13!. They are pretty good!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
