That can vary from culture to culture!. For instance, in Western Christian cultures, snakes and rats are often associated with evil!. The devil took the form of a snake in the biblical story of the Garden of Eden!. In pre-Christian Greek and Roman culture, however, the snake is associated with knowledge rather than evil!. Even today, modern doctors uses the ancient Greco-Roman sign of the caduceus- two intertwined snakes around a staff to symbolize their medical learning!.
Rats in the West are usually viewed as disease-ridden scavengers whose presence foretell doom!. In China, however, the rat is esteemed as a thrifty creature with a knack for survival against overwhelming odds!.

So what whether an animal is perceived as evil depends a lot on where and where you are!.

Wish there was an easier answer!.

Curiously, in this one book I read, one of the character was trying to explaining to the other that wolves (who I think sometimes symbolizes evil) were really not maligned creatures!. I mean, the sound of alone wolf howling in the moonlight often gives you shivers!. And they seem to be always like the silent stalker type!. But then they really are loyal to their own kind and they don't kill each other, only when it's necessary!.

So, my final answer is, wolves are symbolized as evil animals but in real life they're not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
