Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's not about the number of manuscript pages, it's about the word count!. If you're writing a novel, about 80-90,000 words is average, so aim for that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Proper ms format is double-spaced, 12-point Times or Courier!. You're going for about 400 pages, or anywhere from 80-100,000 words by MS word count (depending on genre of course)!. Most people use word count, though; when you query agents, you won't mention the number of pages, you'll give them the word count!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It's not about the number of pages--I have seen some very slim volumes shoot to number one, and some thick duds that are better for pressing flowers than entertaining readers! Focus on the story, the words will flow!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com novels have about 250-300 words per page!. Most word processors have a word count in them I always use this as a guide!. Www@QuestionHome@Com Worry about telling the story, not the word count!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com |
