I have to agree about the first answer!. If you need a series of visuals, take several pictures of hands doing some of the things that the old man does: things that show his are hands that have known hard work, that are strong although old!. Do you have a farmer and/or fisherman handy!?

If you want to look for pictures on line because of the lack of time, use Google images!. Subjects like hands, hands of fisherman (I tried it), old hands, strong hands, working handsWww@QuestionHome@Com

It sounds like you'll be drawing if you use posterboard!. If you have a digital camera, you could consider photographing someone's hands; in this case, I'd suggest that you find someone whose hands are pretty workworn!. Think about what those hands represent!. Santiago struggles, never gives up his struggle, and many would say that he loses in the end, but I don't think we're supposed to see him as a loser!. The fact that he never gives up the fight makes him something of a winner, a hero!. If I was doing your project, I'd want to show some really beat-up hands that were also heroic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
