Yes, there is!. The books were made after the movies (as I'm sure you know, the movies were based on my own personal favorite ride as a child) and they are somewhat simplistic!. They're obviously aimed at children, about age 9-13 based on interests, reading level and maturity!. Thats not to say you shouldn't read them, I'm too old for them and read them because I was bored babysitting!.

There is quite a series, or in other words a lot of books, written about Jack Sparrow by a team of writers working for the Disney company, perhaps the screenplay writers, 'an' author known as Rob Kidd!. ADD: Yes, the series is aimed at readers from 9-12 yrs!.
