Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The deferred dream perhaps is one of the most major!. Walter was busy with the illusion that he would get rich by his father's inheritance so he invested in the get-rich-quick business!. His sister wanted to use the money to further her education!. Walter's mother wanted to use the money to buy a house and get out of the slums!. However, all these dreams were hindered because the money that Walter invested was swindled by one of his "friends" who was in charge of the business!.

Other than that race plays a part especially when the grandmother was trying to buy a house in a white neighborhood!. An agent came to their house to dissuade and tried to buy out the house from them so as to prevent the integration of the neighborhood!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Race and racism are obvious themes!. I be if you googled it you would find even more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
