Question: Do I have any writing potential!?
Here is an excerpt from my story, and i would like to know what you think!. By the way, i am only 13, so i still have some stuff to learn about writing!.

After the many years of being teased and taunted by my peers, I woke up on the first day of eleventh grade hoping that this year I could start fresh!. I was still not confident in myself at all, because I knew that this was the way I always thought on the first day of school, ever since third grade, the year after all this had started!.

I always wish I could go back to the second grade so I could make the embarrassment now not as bad!. This is how it happened!.
It was about January, and it was like how most little kids are, friends with the entire class!. I wish I could say that about me now, but let’s move on!.
I was walking with my friend Charlie Robson, and I tripped on a log, which resulted in my head being hit on the garbage can!. The garbage can flew up into the air, and fell over little Susie’s head, which was now covered in garbage!. Susie could not see anything, and ran into the wall!. Lucky for her she had the garbage can on her head, because it would have made the concussion worse!. I don’t understand how someone can get a concussion when running into a wall with a garbage can on your head can give you a concussion, but it gave Susie one!. So for the rest of the day the whole second grade hated me!. The day after only the girls hated me!.
About a month after, I had no lunch because my dad slept in!. He was sick and I didn’t know why!. I do now, though!.
So, I looked around to see if anybody was watching, and when I felt the coast was clear, I grabbed a sandwich out of the garbage can and ate it!. It was going fine, until Trent came and said, “Hey look, Robbie’s eating outta the garbage!.” Everyone laughed at him!. Not even my pal Charlie was my friend anymore!.

So every year, I was hoping to put the past behind me, but it just got worse instead!. I wondered what was going to happen to me this year!.

So I changed into my clothes, brushed my teeth, and did all the other things your supposed to do in the morning!. I cam downstairs into the kitchen to see my grandma cutting lettuce!. “Why are you cutting lettuce at 7:30 in the morning!?” I asked her!. My grandma turned!. “ Oh good morning Robby!. I didn’t see you come down!. Did you have a good sleep!?” I nodded, and grandma continued!. “I am cutting lettuce because we were invited to a dinner at Charlie’s house!. We are required to bring something!.” I froze!. “At Charlie’s house!? Why were we invited to there house!. I’m not even Charlie’s friend anymore!. The last time I saw him he threw a banana peel at me which I slipped on!” My grandma turned around to finish cutting her lettuce, but then went on talking!. “It wasn’t Charlie inviting you, it was Charlie’s mother!. We are quite good friends from our book club!. But Charlie used to be your best friend!. You never really told me a lot about you and him not being friend’s anymore!. What happened!?” “Well,” I started, “I don’t really know!. We just sort of slipped away from each other!. Anyways, I gotta get to school!.” My grandma turned around again!. “Have a good day at school!. Do you need a lunch!?” I shook my head, grabbed my backpack and walked out the door!.

John Regatta High School was not very far from my house, so I got there very quickly!. TI walked towards the door, but stopped when I saw the school clock!. It said 8:45!. I looked at my watch!. It said 7:10!. Then I realized that it also said pm!. My watch must have run out of battery power last night at 7:10!. I was late for class!. My first class started at 8:25!.

I arrived at the classroom soaked with sweat!. Well actually out in the hall!. The classroom door was locked, so I knocked on the door, but I still wasn’t let in!. So I did the only thing I could do: I stood outside the door and waited for someone to come out!. No one did, until the end of class!. As the students shuffled out the door, I tried to fit in with them, but the teacher, Mrs!. Obiani, caught me in the act!. She grabbed me on the back, and said, “Hello!. You must be Robby!. I didn’t catch you in class, and I don’t think your classmates did either!.” I replied, “My clock at home was wrong and then when I came the door was locked!. There wasn’t anything I could do!.” Mrs!. Obiani shook her head!. “Then you should have knocked louder!. Off you go or you’ll be late for your next class!. Now don’t let it happen again!. I’ll take it lightly since it’s the first day!.”

Now I am quite sure you do not want to read about most of the day before lunch, because nothing important really happened in English class or Socials, so I’ll skip to lunch!.
I was quite curious about how the cafeteria food tasted, so I went there only to find that all the food there was probably the most disgusting stuff I had ever seen!. There was this thing that was called Rabbit Ear Casserole, and it looked really gooey and fatty and disgusting!. That was the only thing!. “Get some grub or leave!.” Said the Www@QuestionHome@Com

Andme2,

You do have some good writing points here, but they really need to be reeled in and given a good work over!. When you use the word 'someone' you can't use 'your' in the same sentence!. You have to use !. !. !. for instance, the word 'their!.' Hence, not understanding how SOMEONE could get hurt running into a wall with a garbage can on YOUR head!. (Your becomes their)

You're also trying too hard to be funny!. Too much silliness all in one place in time!. Tone it down a little bit!. The lunch thing is also way too far ahead of the story here!. That's another point in time, so give it a little more space!.

Here's a little edit I did!. Check it out and see if you can do the same with the rest of the story!.

After the many years of being teased and taunted by my peers, I woke up on the first day of eleventh grade hoping this year I could start fresh!. I was still not confident in myself at all, because I knew this was the way I always thought on the first day of school, ever since third grade, the year after all this had started!. At this point poor Susie’s head was covered in garbage and, since she couldn’t see anything, she ran into the wall!. Lucky for her she had the garbage can on her head; otherwise, it would have made the concussion worse!.

I don’t understand how someone can get a concussion when running into a wall with a garbage can on their head, but it sure did when it was poor Susie!. So for the rest of the day the whole second grade hated me!. The day after it was only the girls who hated me!.

This is what an editor would do if your story was accepted in a major magazine or anthology!. Yes, I think you do have potential and you should keep writing!. Get a few books on writing and grammar!. Check them out carefully and, if you bought them, mark them up with a yellow marker so you can find points of interest once again!.

Good luck!
