I'm Look for the title of a book that is also made into a movie about a father this is slightly crazy and is seeking utopia and moved his family to a remote village to build utopia, and whoever comes and disrupts his utopia he murders them!. The ending is that his son killed him!.

On the way home, travelling downstream by boat, he is paralyzed and dying!. The family lies, telling him that they are going upstream, as he wants!.
