Question: What are some good books for a 13 year old that hates reading!?
She DESPISES reading!! But she has to for school, so what are books that you think would be good!? READ THIS FIRST:

She's not girly, so don't say Gossip Girls or Clique or Traveling Pants or any s*it like that!.

also, no really long books!. This includes that Twilight series everyone is making such a big freakin whoop about!

Now if there's still someone left reading my question, thanks in advance!.

PS: do you think The Catcher in the Rye would be good!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try maximum ride, got me reading (finally) but after that i kinda got addicted and when i was done I missed it and so started reading other books to fill the gaps!. Really got me started and I must say I'm glad I did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I personally love reading books, and I think that Roller of Thunder Hear My Cry would be a good book!. Although the book is a bit long, it is not a hard read, so it might open her up to reading more!. There are two follow-up books, which she does not have to read to understand the full story!. She could also read Nancy Drew books, which are pretty interesting to read!. She could also read a book titled Shadow Spinner!. I believe Catcher in the Rye would be good, along with Animal Farm, Harry Potter and Lord of the Flies!. She has many options, but should try to find a genre that she really enjoys!. Janette Oke has written several good books for young girls!. A few are:
The Bluebird and the Sparrow,
A gown of Spanish Lace,
Roses for Mama,
Heart of the Wilderness!.

These can be found in most Bible book stores, libraries, and sometimes in used book stores!. I'm sure she would enjoy them!.
No on Catcher in the Rye!. I had to read it in high school and found it quite boring!.
She might also like the Narnia books, starting with "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C!.S!. Lewis!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky might be good!.
The Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson are really good for kids who don't care much for reading!.
I personally enjoyed Tarzan very much at her age too!.

I know Twilight seems big and all, but I have a 13 year old sister that despises reading and she is almost done with the fourth book in the series and she has only had them for a few weeks!. Our dad insisted that she would never read it all, then he was pleased that she was reading, now he is ticked off because that's all she does!. He is trying to ban me from giving her any more books!Www@QuestionHome@Com

its like 300 pages, there's more books if she wants to read them but the ending dosn't give you that feeling that you absolutly have to!.
