Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: it is very good, if you like fantasy and adventure -type books!. it's a prequel to the lord of the rings, and it details bilbo baggins' adventures with thirteen dwarves on a quest to regain their old home and treasure that was taken from them by a dragon named smaug!. it's not very long, and it's very easy to get lost in!. it's one of my favorite books!. :] i've given a link to a longer but better description, if you're interested!. :]Www@QuestionHome@Com The Hobbit was written by Tolkien before the Lord of the Rings trilogy for children, but is an interesting prequel that can be enjoyed by all ages!. It tells the story of an ordinary hobbit, Bilbo Baggins (Frodo's uncle) and his adventures with dwarves to recover lost treasure!. He also finds the Ring!. Gandalf and Elrond also make an appearance!. It's quite fun and entertaining!. Well it's about Biblo Baggins' adventures with Gandalf and the Dwarf Lords!. He finds the Ring in it!. Very good read!.
