Now to answer the question!.

People watching is a great way to get ideas!. Play the "WHAT IF" game!.

You see two girls walking together!.

WHAT IF they are sisters and don't know it!?
WHAT IF one of them has a crush on the other's boyfriend!?
WHAT IF the other one has to move away, leaving the boyfriend!?
WHAT IF the one left behind makes friends with boyfriend!?
WHAT IF they get together!? Fall in Love!.
WHAT IF first girl finds out about sister and comes back!?
WHAT IF boyfriend is torn between two sisters!?

It's easy to get a plot going if you think of plausible conflicts and just wonder what would happen!.

Wanna write fantasy!? Think of your WHAT IF's in terms of the universal and outrageous!.

Make it something different so that your book will stand out, and so it's not like any other book that some bored teenager could write to pass time!.

Just start of with some kind of thing that makes the reader curious as to what you mean!.

They turn the pages, and want to find out what happens next!.
Sit in your room, no noises, no distractions, and just brainstorm!. If a bunch of random people from who-knows-where give you the story, then you can't claim it as your own!.
Think of your characters before you think of anything else!. That should help big time!.
Think of every little detail!.!.!. The setting, the time of year, 3 major characteristics about each person, the plot!.!.!. (Like I said, we can't feed you your own story)
Get a notebook and fill it up!. Give each character a page and write about them!. Study, analyze!.!.!.

After that, you can get started!. DO NOT RUSH THROUGH IT!. That calls for a crummy book, and people will rush to get to the end of it!.

Stay away from high school love stories and vampires!
How about you write about a man who is trapped in the body of a shark and a woman trapped in the body of a dolphin!? They are in love, but are not safe together, and the shark always wants to bite her, and she fears him!. They both open a clam and find a pearl that will free them, but only the man is freed, and he must continue his romance with the woman, who is still a dolphin!.!.!.
