You can check out sparknotes!.com for a summary, but basically, Gandalf, a wizard and dwarves come to Bilbo, a hobbit's house and ask him to go on an adventure with them!. Bilbo's first response is no, but then he gets pushed into it!. On the adventure, Bilbo is the hero and saves them a lot!. The adventure is to go to the Lonely Mountain and take the gold that Smaug, a dragon, took from Thorin, the main dwarf's grandfather and Dale, a town!. At the end, Smaug goes to Lake-town, where the dwarves got help along the way and Bard, an excellent archer, kills him!. Everyone hears about this and comes to the Lonely Mountain in hopes of getting gold back!. Then, the Battle of the Five Armies begins and the Goblins and the Wargs, evil wolves lose!. Then, the dwarves, elves, and Lake-town men get the gold!.

basically its about a hobbit named bilbo baggins who gets summoned by a wizard on a quest to kill a dragon!. they have a run in with elves, blibo at some point gets lost and finds gollum and takes his magic ring (the ring from lord of the rings), then they keep traveling, get caught up in a war, find the dragon, im not giving away the ending
