Question: Preppy intellectuals, did u like the book twilight, i'm thinking of buying it!. is it good!?

i'm very preppy but also smart (all advanced classes, not just my opinion) i don't like gothic or scary depressing things, and i heard this was about vampires!. i think it might freak me out, i'm a scaredy cat that gets trometized litterally by some scary PG-13 movies! could i read this book without getting scared or night mares!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was a very good book for a summer night, not anything you'd read for educational purposes, such as improving your English skills or anything!. But if you're just looking for a book that'll entertain you for a couple nights, definitely consider it!. Like you, I am in all advanced classes!. I'm an incoming senior, & have been on hold for acceptance into the University of California Berkeley!. I have taken AP English classes for the past 3 years of high school (including my freshman year) & currently have a 3!.9 GPA average!. English has always been my best subject!. Though Twilight wasn't the most deep book I've ever read, it took me no longer than 2 days to finish it - I finished it quicker than any of the Harry Potter books!. Most people dislike it for the "poor quality" of Stephenie Meyer's writing - I prefer to look at her style as very unique, & easy to interpret!. It is not very intellectual, & in fact, she writes much like people my age!. However, it is the content in her writing & her repetitive use of physical descriptions that makes her writing so unique & enjoyable, not the sentence structure itself!. You'll probably be too wrapped up in the story to notice anything bad about her style!.

You will definitely NOT get nightmares!. The book is about GOOD vampires, & you'll actually end up falling in love with one of the main characters, Edward Cullen!. I'm paranoid of horror movies & whatnot also, this is definitely DEFINITELY something you won't have to worry about in Twilight!.

It's more about true love than it is about vampires!. I don't even like romance novels OR science fiction novels, but this book was very entertaining!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I was in the advanced English class for gifted and talented children 7th-9th grade!. I'm in 10th this year, and I'm taking 1 AP class and 4 honors classes!. With the way I'm going now, I'll likely have my Associates Degree before I graduate!. I'm the only student in my school who scored 100 on the end of year State English test all 3 years of Junior High, and I'm in the top 5% national percentile for end of year testing at school!.

Twilight sucks!. The writing is awful (and if you care about writing, like I do, it will drive you nuts)!. Stephenie Meyer writes like a 12 year ol!.d The story is decent, but it's not unique-- it's just a rip off of past stories!. Most of the characters are unrealistic and two dimensional!. There is barely a plot!. It's basically a chick-flick in a novel!. If you like romance stories (chick flicks in particular), you might like Twilight!. Twilight is the kind of book that's not difficult to understand-- it's just a fluff read!. It has no literary value!. So if you are looking for something that's a light, easy read, you might enjoy Twilight!. But I hate it!. It's crap!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm smart as well, gifted program and all, and I also am traumatized by PG-13 movies that are scary!. I still have nightmares about Prom Night, my first and only horror movie, that I saw in May!.

Well I don't usually read books about vampires either!. But this book really isn't a gory scary vampire book!.
