James is the one who had her in the dance studio and made her think he had her mom held captive!. Then Edward and the Cullen's killed him!. That was in Twilight!.

In New Moon, Laurent tried to kill her in the Meadow that her and Edward went to in Twilight!. She was trying to find it with Jacob, then decided to try on her own!. And when she got there, Laurent tried to kill her, but the warewolves chased him down and killed him!.

And Victoria wanted to kill her in New Moon and Eclipse to get revenge from Edward killing James back in Twilight!. She wanted to kill Edward's lover because Edward killed her lover!. She wanted him to suffer like she was suffering!.
