"How do i love thee!? let me count the ways" Elizabeth is descibing the intensity of her love for her husband Robert!. "I love thee to the depth breadth and height"- the measurements represent the size of her love in relation to the size of her position in the universe!. "My soul can reach when feeling out of sight"- Even when she cannot see him and touch him physically her soul and spirit are still with him!. "For the ends of being and ideal grace"-she is comparing the love of Robert to the love she has for God!. "I love thee to the level of every days most quiet need, by sun and candlelight"-her love of him is a basic need just as food, air and water are also basic needs and she needs to love him from the beginning until the end of the day just as much as any other need are required throughout the day!. "I love thee freely as men strive for right"- her love is given freely, it is not forced and she will fight for her right to love him!. This could also be referring to her flight from her father and family home so she could be free to be with the man she loves!. "I love thee purely, as they turn from praise"-her love for him is pure, she does not need or expect any praise!. "I love with a passion put to use in my old griefs, and with my childhoods faith"-The old griefs possibly refer to the accidental drowning of her brother from which she never fully recovered and the love she feels for Robert is as painful and passionate as the grief she felt over her brothers loss!. The same passion exists in the faith of a child whose innocence allows no room for doubt!. "I love thee with love i seemed to lose with my lost saints"-although she has lost the faith she had as as a child she has rediscovered that faith through her love for him!. "I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, all of my life"- she loves him through the happy and sad times of her life and with every breath she takes!. "And if god choose, I shall but love thee better after death"-Her love will not end with death but will continue through eternity, god willing!. Hope this helps!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
