Nah, you don't have to learn another instrument!. I only know piano and I'm a composer!. The best thing to do is have an encyclopedic knowledge of classical, film, t!.v!., broadway, jazz, and any other type of music, as well as music theory and orchestration!. Start being conscious of how music in the film affects the viewers' perceptions!. Be familiar of the history behind Western art music!. Integrating some philosophy behind this helps, too, especially the study of aesthetics!. Do anything to become an informed composer!. Conservatory is a must if you want a job, the best in the U!.S!. being Julliard, Eastman, Curtis, UPenn, and New England Conservatory!. E-mail me if you want some books to read at bastian!.skala@yahoo!.com!. I'd be more than happy to help a budding composer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. You don't have to learn another instrument!. You just have to learn how to translate the notes of your instrument to notes of other instruments!. You also need to learn the base cleff!.

Study the histor of it as well!. That could help!. There's a lot that goes into creating music!. I have a hard time creating music for my own instrument as it is!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's an idea!. Put this in a category that it belongs in instead of here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
