Here's the assignment:

Le Morte D' Arthur is told from a third person omniscient!. What if Arthur,Lancelot, or any of the key players from Malory's version of the novel had the chance to relate events from their own perspective!? Using information you have gleaned from events, dialogue, and characterization as written by malory, you are to write and present a 2-5 minute monologue in the persona of one of the following key players from le morte d'arthur: (LIST OF CHARACTERS)!. Your presentation must include thoughts on leadership in Camelot, thoughts on your character's future, justification of his/her actions!.

OK WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!? HELP!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It is written in third person omniscient style which means that Malory doesn't go inside the character's heads - he can move from one character to another just telling the exterior details, but he doesn't delve into their thoughts or opinions individually!. So for your assignment you need to write something from inside one character's head, showing what they think of the exterior situation and the other people around them, etc!. You must stay within one character's frame of consciousness, only relating what they see and know and feel!. Since it is a monologue, it should be written in the first person form, which means using 'I' and 'me' instead of 'he' or 'she'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are supposed to write and deliver a short, two to five minute speech as if you were one of the characters, Arthur, Lancelot, or someone else from the book!. Your piece should be in the First Person meaning you use the personal pronouns I, me, mine as if you were the character yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It seems pretty straightforward - pick a character and put yourself in that person's shoes!. Ask yourself what would the character think or do in this or that situation in the novel!. Then write it up from the character's point of view!.
