Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: oh yes its definately a great book! its really interesting to see the difference in society between then and now!. but more importantly, its fascinating to see how human nature really never changes!. i guess u could go as far as to say the novel has some 'slow' parts!. but thats not really how i would describe it!. its more like the book as a great deal of smaller plots mixed in that seem like they have no signifigance!.!. but really its to help you fully understand the characters for further on in the book!. there is also a lot of sexual tension between elizabeth bennet and mr darcy!. its so !.!. addicting! i dont want to give away too much, but the realtionship between the two keep the adrenaline pumping to say the least!. i read it about three-four weeks ago for the first time and i absolutely loved it!. the only thing- the beginnign of the book might take awhile to get into, but only becasue your not use to the style of writing of that time era!. once you get into it, you wont be able to put it down!. trust me ;) Www@QuestionHome@Com YES!!! i take it you are a twilight lover!? seriously, elizabeth and mr!. darcy have so much more chemistry and the evolution of their romance is so much better than that of twilight!. i think that p+p is much more romantic just for that reason!. austen is just such a great writer, her characters leap off the page, and her wit and irony are unparalelled in my belief, more so in pride and prejudice than in her other books!. seriously, stephenie meyer probably wishes she was as good as jane austen, the forerunner of all chick flick!. and elizabeth and mr!. darcy just might be one of my favorite literary couples of all time!.!.!.read the book, i tell you, read it! *celebrindal*Www@QuestionHome@Com Believe it or not, I was just like you, I actually still am!. I'm hesitant to read boring books!. But Pride and Prejudice was different!. It had an amazing beginning!. The plot wasn't the only amazing thing, the very first sentence was very intriguing!. Although it started getting boring in the beginning of part 2, it wasn't long before suspense arouse once again!. Pride and Prejudice is such a wonderful book full of surprises, that I'm sure you'll never put it down!. It's just about my favorite!. Really!. Don't watch the movie before you read the book, it's absolutely brilliant and very well written!. But if you watch the movie first, it kind of ruins the book for you!.!.!. I'm not sure how, because I watched it LOVED IT and still do, but the book wasn't as good as it could have been!. So read it!. It's a classic, you should at least try a few chapters of it!. It really is, as someone else said, witty, warm, and romantic!. It's considered one of the best works of fiction in the English language, so there is, at least, some basis for claiming that it's a great book! If you are going to watch the movie, avoid the recent movie AT ALL COSTS!. Yech! The wording is easy to understand, and I read it when I was nine and enjoyed it fully!. I enjoy it more now, though!. It's not hard to understand and the humor and romance will captivate you fully!. You kind of fall in love with Lizzy and most of her family!. I enjoyed it right up to the last page!. It's very heart warming!.
