Question: The Count of Monte Cristo: is reading the abridged version going to be as good as the real thing!?
A friend sent me her copy of _The Count of Monte Cristo_ to read!.!.!. and right smack dab across the front, it says "Abridged!."
Will I be missing out on anything if I read it, or do you think they will have cut out key parts!?

I really hate the idea of not reading the whole book; what would you do in my situation!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd find myself a FULL copy online!. The book is on the public domain!. You can find it here: http://www!.gutenberg!.org/etext/1184

If you want a copy that you can download, you can get it pretty cheap from fictionwise: http://www!.fictionwise!.com/ebooks/eBook9!.!.!. Simon & Schuster also has downloadable versions!.

You can probably find print copies in your public library or you can try purchasing your own from your favorite bookstore!.

You should read the whole book!. Just my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never understood the point of abridged versions of books, except for young children who are just being introduced to storytelling and real literature!. It defeats the whole point of the book as a work of art!.

You should definitely get the full version!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
