I would say that Jethro Creighton is the main character!. It has been quite awhile since I've read Across Five Aprils, but I remember him as the main character, for I believe the book mostly followed his thoughts and such!. That doesn't mean the other characters don't play important roles, but Jethro just seemed to be the character that the book revolved around most!.
