he lost his "mate"/ wife a long time ago
and nothing seems to interest him anymore so he blocks out the world!. when he met bella and edward their relationship upset him even more!.
i asked stephenie the same question and she told me that he long his wife and that edward and bella's relationship suprised him because it was so strong like his ownWww@QuestionHome@Com

He lost his mate, a while ago so that might be a reason, Hes been with the other ancients for a long long long time so Im sure nothing really excites him anymore!. And hes just one of those ppl (Or vampires I should say) Who just act bored all the time like those stereo typical bad boys that never seem interested in anything!? Ya that would Be Marcus lol
