Question: Sorry but i couldn't follow Ron and Hermione talking about brains got hold of him and his height
I've been reading J K Rowling's fifth Harry Potter book, (okay I'm a bit late) and as my english being a second language, I was just not able to follow the real meaning of the lines below:

"You can still see where those brains got hold of me in the Ministry, look," said Ron, shaking back his sleeves!.
"And it doesn't hurt that you've grown about a foot over the summer either," Hermione finished, ignoring Ron!.

To me it's just plain english, not making any sense, I lost it!.

Would anyone who already finished the book please kindly explain me how I am suppose to understand these supposedly sarcastic conversation!? Again, I'm not a native english speaker!.

(And I would appreciate it if you don't spoil the rest of the story!. Thank you)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ron is talking about the alive brains that were tangling you or somethin in the ministry of magic their 5th year when they went to save sirius and how he still has marks left on his arms and hermione is ignoring that and sayin how its good that Harry grown another foot and thats its a good thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hermione is complimenting Harry and telling him why Quidditch is so popular!. Because of all of Harry's trials and his physical appearance, he's very likable and he appeals to a lot of the Hogwarts girls!.
Ron is jealous, and he's trying to reclaim Hermione's attention!. He's reminding her that he (like Harry) is tall and he (like Harry) has scars that prove he's suffered too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would be delighted to help you if I can, but it would be a lot easier if you could say which part of the book it's from - then I would be able to answer better!. Could you possibly give a chapter as well as a page number because different editions (e!.g!. US and UK) have different pages!?

Haha it took me a few minutes to get that, also!.

Hermione is explaining to Harry why all of the girls are attracted to him --
1) Because he is famous
2) Because he has "gone through SOO much" and girls think its hot if you have battle scars!. It just shows once more that Harry was hated by so many people but did not give up!.
3) Because he is somewhat handsome and tall

From Ron's ears, Hermione is praising Harry and talking about how amazing he is!. Ron, because he likes her, immediately gets jealous that she is saying these things and goes about trying to convince her he, too, has all that Harry does!.
1) Ron also says he went to the Ministry to fight, thus making him famous
2) Ron says that you can still see the scars from the brains that attacked him at the Ministry of Magic, so he has gone through a lot, too
3) Ron says that he, also, is tall, and therefore handsome too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
