As a 5 year old: The Chronicles of Narnia (my mom read them out loud at night to my younger brothers and me)
As a 6 year old: Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein (my 1st grade teacher read these poems aloud all the time, and then my aunt gave me the book for Christmas, and I learned to read really well with this book!.)
As a 7 year old: The Betsy books by Carolyn Haywood
As an 8 year: The Little House Books (The Orignals - I read and re-read them hungrily!.

As an 11 year old: The Dollhouse Murders by Betty Ren Wright, Anne of Green Gables series by L!.M!. Montgomery!. Karen by Marie Killilea!.
As a 12 year old: Children of the Dust by Louise Lawrence
As a 12/13/14 year old: Cynthia Voigt books, particularly Izzy, Willy-Nilly and The Callendar Papers!.
Ages 14 - 17 or so: Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher, To Kill a Mockingbird, Stephen KIng books, Ruby Jean Jensen horror, The Secret Circle triology by LJ Smith

I would have to say Jake's tower by elizabeth Laird!. It's the story of a young boy who lives in fear of his step-father who pummels him whenever he gets the chance!. It's really opened my eyes to how child abuse affects the child mentally!. There was a precious moment when he wanted to make up his dream house, and every feature the house had was to keep his step-father away!. You must read it!. A great read!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
