Question: Southern Vampire / Dead Before Dark question -- who killed Sookie's cat

I just re-read the fabulous first book, and I'm still puzzled over this little point!. Was it Bubba (having a snack), or the person who is revealed to be the killer!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well we assume it's Rene!.
He killed the other girls, not to mention her grandmother!.
It was a warning to Sookie that she was next!.

Bill says the cat was strangled so it couldn't have been Bubba!.
Bubba would have drained the cat dry or ripped out it's throat, like the cat Sookie sees when she's hiding in the woods!.

I loved Dead Until Dark!.

I just read it again recently as well!.
