Question: Meaning of the New Moon title!. (Twilight series)
I read that the title for New Moon meant: The title refers to the darkest phase of the lunar cycle, indicating that New Moon is about the darkest period of Bella's life!. However, some fans have suggested the flower is wilting, and that depicts Bella's sorrow and anguish!.
I thought it meant that, since 'New Moon' was to warewolves, that it was more of a title toward Jacob, because he was a major charecter, especially in New Moon!.
What does the title really mean!? Thank you!.

The rumor aboutt he cover is most likely not true, becuase stephenie has nothing to do with the covers after twilight!. however, the title theory yoiu have is correct!. This is directly from stephenie's site:

A!. That is a ruffled tulip!. As for the meaning!.!.!. If you've read the Twilight FAQ, you know that the apple cover had a lot of meaning for me, and I was an active part of the covering process!. However, that experience is more the exception than the rule in the publishing world!. Something to keep in mind if you intend to embark on a career as a writer: lots of things you might expect to be under your control are not!. Covers, for example!. A!. Nope!. The term "new moon" refers to the phase of the moon opposite a full moon!. It is when the sun is on the opposite side of the moon from us and thus the bright side of the moon is not visible from earth!. This is the darkest kind of night!. New Moon is the darkest period of Bella's life!.

I agree with the first answerer!. USUALLY, & I'm not sure if that applies to the Twilight series, there is no deep meaning the cover of a book unless it is directly stated!. The wilting flower is not directly mentioned, so probably has no specific meaning!.

The author does not often have say on the cover of the book!. So I am fairly certain that the flower was chosen simply because it looked nice and it kept up with the red white and black theme!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
