Question: In Daphne Du Maurier's book Rebecca was Maxim blind in the beginning!?

I read somewhere that he went blind because of the fire at the end because he went into the house or something!. Is it true!? also!.!. what sensory images are in this book!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you sure you mean Rebecca and not Jane Eyre!? In Jane Eyre Mr!. Rochester is blinded when he goes back into his burning house to save his wife!. I don't recall anyone being blinded in Rebecca, but it has been many years since I read it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He wasn't blind until the end of the book when he got injured in the fire trying to save his lunatic wife!. At the very, very end of the book he started getting some vision back though (he started seeing color and blurry images)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
