No!. Meaning, Yes, I read the book, but it wasn't a pile of anything!. It was a book!. I take it you disliked it because of your lack of comprehension!. This is understandable!. Still doesn't make the book a pile of anything, it just makes it a book for other people!.

Yes!. I couldn't buy it in the UK and a Pakistani (Muslim) friend lent it me!. Although I studied Islam at Uni, I have to say, that most people who read it would not have made the connection!. If the Ayatollah had not made so much fuss about the book, most readers would have been unaware of the 'Satanic Verses' which were later deleted from the Qu'ran!.
Most readers would have reacted as you did!.
I don't know what you mean by the word 'Schit'!.
I have read all of Salman Rushdie's books, and taken on board what he is saying!. I doubt if he, himself, anticipated the reaction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yep, there were lots of people who read the whole thing!. Some of them actually liked it and classify it as Great Literature!.

There are some books I find that are never or rarely worth reading!. They are Booker Prize winners and those which excite the press!. The more comment in the press the less likely they are to be worth readng !. I don't particlarly refer to book rreviews here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
