Question:

I have read the whole Harry potter series!.The thing is,i couldnt understand some sentences in the "half blood prince" book!.
it is the last sentences of the chapter "UNKNOWABLE ROOM"!.Harry,Ron and Hermoine were chatting about Tonks being so sad in that times!.It goes like this:( Ron who was now shovelling mashed potato into his mouth,said "she is gone a bit funny!.Lost her nerve!.Women,' he said wisely to harry!."They are easily upset" !. Hermoine coming out of her reverie,"And yet, i doubt you'd find a women who sulked for half an hour because madam rosmerta didn't laugh at their joke about the hag, the Healer and the mimbulus mimbletonia" Ron scowled!.)
i honestly can't understand what hermoine meant!.i read the same words 20 times and i couldn't get it!! plz help me with this!.i am expecting a wise answer!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, Ron has always had a bit of a crush on Madam Rosmerta, ever since the beginning of the book!. She was just showing him that just as he gets upset when Rosmerta doesn't return the flirting, it's ok when Tonks is upset because of Lupin and she hasn't "gone a bit funny!."

It's just basically another case of Hermione whacking Ron over the head with her brilliance (or in this case, common sense, which we all know Ron severely lacks)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ron says women are easily upset because Tonks started crying for, according to Ron and Harry, no reason!.

Then, Hermione makes a point that Ron was easily upset because for a long time, Ron had a crush on Madame Rosmerta!. Apparently, that day in Hogsmeade, he tried to tell Madame Rosmerta a joke about a hag, healer and mimbulus mimbletonia!. She's referring to Ron who was easily upset because his crush (at the time- Madam Rosmerta), didn't find his joke (which he probably said to gain her attention and to admire him), funny at all!.

So in this chapter Harry had stayed behind to try to get into the Room of Requirement to see what Malfoy was up to in there, okay!? Which meant Ron and Hermione went into Hogsmeade by themselves!. Ron has always had a sort of crush on Madam Rosmerta, and when he and Hermione go into the Three Broomsticks, he tells Rosmerta a joke about a hag, a healer, and a Mimbulus Mimbletonia!. She doesn't think it's funny, so Ron sulks about it after!. Hermione's just pointing out that a girl wouldn't get all upset like that if a guy didn't like one of her jokes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
