They are legal and have been released by their own authors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Books are protected by copyright for 70 years after the death of the author!. If an author wants to give his book away, he can post it on his website!.

If anyone else posts it, then it is stealing from the author!. Don't deal with book pirates!.

However, some public libraries are PAYING for ebooks and if you have a library card number, you can read them for free!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, if it's copyright has worn down - mostly classics - then they're readily available!.
Otherwise, you can only get it through sites such as various pirating sites and LimeWire!. In other words, illegally!. If you want to read the work of an author, at least pay for it or borrow it from someone you know who paid for it - you know, a friend or a library!? I think most people have at least one of those o_OWww@QuestionHome@Com

There's this great website called Project Gutenberg!. They've compiled quite a bit of literature, mostly classics though!. I'm not sure how much modern works there are, but it's worth a look! Here's the link:

Don't do it! It's then not a book is it!? One of the beauties of a book is it's cover!. Just go to your local library and borrow the books you want!. Besides, how can you find a cozy corner to sit and convert yourself into a story if you're carrying round a lap-top!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
