Question: How to get Scotland from London on horseback or ship in this book i'm writing!?

I'm writing a book and wanted to know!. I'm not even sure if you'd have to take a ship from London to Scotland, but any information would be great!. Remember, this story is taking place in the 1800's, so horseback and ships would be the only ways they could go!. Days!? Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
