Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
A believable character has both good points and bad, flaws and perfections, is over the top sometimes and laid back others!. In order to have a believable character, they need to be insecure and imperfect and all the things that real people are, or else they won't be believable!. If you're asking this because you're writing something, I wish you the best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To me, it means they are realistic!. They have to go through character development, they have to have flaws, they have to have strong points, they have to have redeeming qualities, they have to has passions and hopes and dreams, etc!. They just need to connect with you!. But on top of that all, they need to be realistic!. I'm going to use examples from the infamous Twilight series!.

Edward Cullen is not a believable character, because he is unrealistic!. People like him do not exist in real life!. His personality, most of his actions, and his selflessness are unrealistic, because most people aren't like that!. He has very few dreams, no expectations for the future, and absolutely no character development!.

Jacob Black, on the other hand, is a realistic character!. He is not perfect and makes tons of mistakes, but people like him exist in real life!. That makes him easy to relate with!. He has hopes, dreams for the future, and goes through the most character development of any character in the series!. Other than the werewolf thing, someone like him could easily exist in real life!.

So anyways!. I hope I made sense!. Believable=realistic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A believable character is one who's well rounded, with strengths and weaknesses, opinions, character flaws, good traits, a past, hope for the future, secrets, and everything else real people have!.

The main character of a novel must be believable, and often the featured secondary characters as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think a believable character has to be somebody who isn't perfect, they have to have flaws, sterngths, weaknesses, a personality, and be well believable!. I want to be able to imagine this person as if they were real!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

By a believable character I mean, someone that i can relate to, not someone who is perfect in every way and is supernatural, (*cough* Edward Cullen *cough*) and also, someone that has flaws, but a lot of redeeming qualities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It probably means that they're realistic; you can relate to them or you could imagine them actually being real because the author created them in a realistic way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Someone that's realistic, one that people can relate to easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
