Goodnight Mr Tom - i still cry when i read it now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favourite book when I was nine was 'The Little White Horse' by Elizabeth Goudge, which I read again and again at that age!. It's a marvellous exciting period adventure story with a touch of fantasy!. I also loved 'A Traveller in Time' by Alison Uttley, another wonderful book!. 'The Phantom Tolbooth' by Norton Juster was another one I loved!. 'The Wolves of Willoughby Chase' by Joan Aiken was another favourite!. 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett was a great favourite!. Elizabeth Enright's books were also ones I enjoyed very much - Thimble Summer, The Saturdays, etc!.

If she enjoyed Anne of Green Gables, she might like 'Daddy Long Legs' by Jean Webster, which is a delightful book!. Although it is about a college-aged girl, if your daughter is a good reader she shouldn't find it too hard to follow!.

If she enjoyed the Famous Five/Secret Seven books, then how about the Nancy Drew books by Carolyn Keene!. Many of them are still in print and they still seem to be enjoyed by girls!. I think I was a little older than nine when I first read them, but if your daughter is such a good reader then she shouldn't have any trouble with them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One author I am most utterly convinced that your daughter cannot miss is Roald Dahl!. His books are awesome and he was the one who started me reading!. Most of his books are also aimed for children, so the vocabulary is not hard!. There're also a lot of humor and none of his stories are boring!. Most of them are fantasy!. (i!.e!. Fantastic Mr!. Fox, The Witches, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc!.)!. This depends though, whether your daughter likes advanced books or easy books, I've met nine-year-olds who read Agatha Christie!.!.!.(although adults enjoy Roald Dahl too)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If she read Prince Caspian why didn't she read the other 6 books in the Narnia series!? I started reading those books when I was 19 years old and I re-read them every few years because I love them so much!! Another fav of mine, all the Wizard of Oz books by Frank L!. Baum there are quite a few of them too!.!. not the movie version or the edited version but the original books they are out there!
There is a new series out called 39 Clues, its a trilogy, my daughter says is really great too!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would suggest Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The call of the Wild by Jack London, Black beauty by Anna sewell and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and i was going to suggest Anne Of Green Gables!.!.

I read these books when i was 10 and my reading level was high!.!. I really enjoyed them and I still do nowWww@QuestionHome@Com

Jingo Django by Sid Fleicshman

The Spiderwick Chronicles(highly reccomend for that age)

Harry Potter

And, in case you didn't know, Anne of Green Gables has lots of sequels written by the same author!. You should look it up on wikipedia if your daughter would like it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, I'd like to just say "Wow!"!. I think it's wonderful that your daughter is reading at such a high level for her age!. Try giving her a little push by introducing her to some more complex novels, see if she can handle it!. Give her some Dickens!. If she struggles with it, fall back to simpler things such as Harry Potter and maybe even LOTR!.

I hope that helped!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well i loved the book, The Naughtiest girl in School, then went onto, The naughtiest girl in school again, and The Naughtiest girl in school is a Monitor!. This series are by Enid Blyton and i absolutely loved them!. They were about a girl called Elizabeth and her life at Boarding School!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend the Charlie Bone series (love them!)!. The writing isn't as good as Harry Potter, and it has a similar feel to it (at least in the first book)!. There is even a new book in the series coming out in September!. That will make for 7 books in the series total!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
