~Sharon Shinn's Samaria series

both are excellent stories by excellent writers and they're all several books long so you don't run out of reading too soon!. Both series involve the importance of music in the plot of the story with the Harper Hall ones being about a girl who is training to become a bard and the second series about how music itself is used to shape the world the characters live in!. And if I remember right both series are fairly clean so you don't have to worry about 'bodice-ripping' distracting from the plot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
