It's stupid!. Worse than stupid!.

There is no mention of Satan anywhere in it! How can it be Satanic!? There are more mentions of God, inderect ones, mind, esoecially in the seventh book!.

Some people think that, because it's about magic, it's Satanic!. Well, that's closer to Wicca, but still waaaaay off!. I mean, I seriously considered converting to Wicca recently, and I did my research, and it's NOTHING like HP!. In any case, Wicca is NOT Satanic!. They do not believe in God, so how could they believe in Satan!? They worship their own dieties!.

HP is a good story that teaches kids about the bonds of friendship, love, and good vs!. evil!. The really sad thing about this is the fact that the people who will suffer are the kids!.

EDIT: ECullen - I find it funny when these books are being burned!. I love the irony - it does no good; they have to buy the books so the publishers get money for it!. When something's controversial like that, it makes people MORE likely to read it, to see what the fuss is about!. So the author and the publishers BENEFIT from controversy!.

Yeah I dont get that I was on the bus on the way home from school one day and I was reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Holllows,and one of my friends realizes what I was reading and she said,"What are you reading!?" I told her "why are you reading that!?"I told her I enjoyed the series then she went on some rampage asking if I was a christian,if I believed in god,and how no one that was a christian,or anyone that believed in god should read that that it was against Him then she got her two older sisters to join in and I told them that I had been to church every other DSunday since I was two and that I had never heard of it being against God!.Man did that piss her off!.I still read them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Harry Potter is a work of fiction, created for entertainment!. And it's wonderful because it got so many kids to read who otherwise wouldn't bother!.

Maybe if the themes in the series were Satanic and evil, I would understand, but they're all really good things, actually!.

i am very religous and i dont believe harry potter is satanic!. i just dont believe in HP at all!.

i loved the books, they were a little cheesy, but that made them, if anything, better!.

the whole series was about good vs!. evil, and harry sacrificed himself a lot throughout the series, espesially in the 7th when he let voldy kill him to save everyone then was reborn, its the same as what Jesus did (but with magic and a dead gay man) so that was a good thing for the series!.

sure there are a lot of anti-christian stuff like the magic (obviously) and a dumbledore being gay (which i refuse to believe because it wasnt actually in the books, JKR is just weird) but lord of the rings and Narnia has magic too and the Church loves them!. i think harry potter is just fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only religious fanatic psychos would say something so proposterous!. The whole idea of the story is good prevailing over evil!. What the opponents of the series have a problem with is the depiction of witchcraft as something frivolous and fun!. What these people fail to realize is that these books are FICTION and not instructional books on wicca!. I think those that think Harry Potter is satanic, have never taken the time to sit down and read the books!. The overall theme is good vs!. evil, in which good prevails!. Just because it is about witches and wizards!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.some people need to really get over it!. Have you even read it !? Have you actually picked up a book, opened it and read at LEAST the first 2 chapters !?!.

It sickens me, how absurd, misjudging, ignorant and ridiculous some people could be!. Really now, did I suddenly flip and I mean flip, and go do me some magic, or go and worship [insert something to be worshiped], see, I have a brain, I can think for myself, and what do you know! I happen to realize that it is a book, my life!.!. true, I love it!.!. true!. But! That does not mean, I lack common sense!.
Now, I would like to hear them reasoning with me, on how satanic it is, because I see NOTHING satanic about it, what!? Witchcraft you mean !? Well some CLASSICS have witchcraft !.!. GO READ!

I would love it if they banned the books, you know why !? Banning the books makes them MORE ENTERTAINING, ban something, and I am sure people WILL read it! That's human nature, to be curious and I quote Dumbledore "Curiosity is not a sin"!.

Harry Potter at least has MORE morals than anyone could think of, trust me I read the series many many many times, and each time I read it, I discover a new moral! How can something so informative, with great state of the art morals be SATANIC !?!.
Some of the morals mentioned in the book, actually are something that has some significance in religion, no matter what religion you are talking about ALL of them ask of us to be: 1- BE TRUSTFUL!.
2- CARE FOR YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES!.
3- LOVE IS IMPORTANT, you should know that it's one of the important essentials of life, no one and I mean NO ONE can live, if they're not loved!.
4- BE BRAVE, you may be small, young, foolish and careless!. BUT! You sure can do a change in life!.
5- DO NOT let anyone or anything, drive you away from doing what is right, what you believe in!.
6- Just look at the amazing, truly deep, meaningful things that Dumbledore says!. Look at how many quotes you can take from his speech !?
7- FACING OBSTACLES !?, do not let that get you down, no! Go and try again and again and again, until you DO IT RIGHT!.
8- STUDY! It's important that you learn, not only learn how to 'fight evil' or 'magic unreal stuff' NO! Learn and be eager for learning, sure they teach magical subjects in Hogwarts, but please, have a brain!.!. That sends a message to all of us, saying learning is essential, important and most important YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT!.
8- SACRIFICE, you must favour others, over yourself!.

I can go forever, the morals in it are endless!. At least Harry Potter taught me that, it didn't teach me to go raving over a spineless, pathetic, abusing loser!. Or teach me to forget to live for that loser!. Oh, and how can a book that says in a very famous quote "To the well organized minde, death is but the next great adventure!." Teaches you to NOT BELIEVE IN A GOD, or tells you, go on dear, go and worship satan!!.

Look at the symbolism in Harry Potter, first off, Slytherin's snake!. Snakes are the symbol of evil, not in Christianity only, but it's the same in Islam, Judaism and whatever you can think of!. Lions, the symbol of strength, bravery and courage!. Eagles, the symbol of wit, smartness and a sharp keen eye!. Badgers, the symbol of modesty, the down to earth characteristic!.

OK now let's talk about magical creatures, Dementors, aren't they a lot like devils, suck all the happiness, all the good thoughts, then it comes down to the humble Patronus, an angle more like it to be conjured to fight off the devil!.

I happen to remember, either reading that in a newspaper, or watching an interview with J!.K Rowling, that J!.K herself said, that she's glad people do not ask her about her deep religious beliefs because she doesn't want to give away the books' ending!.

There is a reason why Harry Potter is well known and that is because it IS something EXTRAORDINARY, why would something be famous, and sell more than 350 MILLION books if it's not worth a read, huh !? You tell me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
