Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
If you just finished "The Hobbit", I would definitely stick with J!.R!.R!. Tolkien and read the LOTR series!. After that, I would be sure to read "The Silmarillion", which is a nice way to round out the J!.R!.R!. Tolkien library of work!.

The Chronicles of Narnia would be a good place to go next, for an easier read!. Maybe give your mind a little breather!. (They are great books, but not nearly as long of a read as LOTR!.)

Definitely read the "His Dark Materials" series last!. (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass!.) It is such a great trilogy, and you may want to go back and read it again right after you are done!

Of course, this is all just my humble opinion, ultimately it is up to you ;)

As for additional fantasy novels, maybe try "The Earthsea Cycle" series by Ursula K!. LeGuin -(see here for info!. on the first book:
http://www!.amazon!.com/Wizard-Earthsea-Cy!.!.!.
or the Harry Potter series (if you haven't already read it)!. Both are great!

Happy reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, the 2nd "Northern Lights" book is the best of the bunch!. I rate it "very good"!.

If you've finished The Hobbit and you're wondering whether or not The Lord of The Rings should be next, you obviously are not a huge fan of The Hobbit!. Nevertheless, The Lord of The Rings has made my "excellent" list, and none of the "Northern Lights" books have!.

Ive never read the 1st LOTRs book, so i cant tell you about that!. All three of the Philip P dark materials are amazing!! The chronicles of narnia are better than i thought theyd be, try them!.
For light reading the georgia niccolson series - the film comes out soon (angus thongs and perfect snogging) but i promise the titles are the rudest bit about the books! there are about 10 in the series and the first one is called angus thongs and ful frontal snogging!. The entire series are great! by Louise Rennison!.
The best books ever in my opinion are the Twilight series!. They are a series of books about a teenage girl falling in love with a vampie, but its better than it sounds!. Its had me on tenderhooks non stop!.The three current books are by stephanie Meyer and are called twilight, new moon, and eclipse!. Breaking dawn is released on the 2nd of August!.
The Alex Rider series are better than exected, by Anthony Horowitz!. Funny and not too gripping, good for holidays etc!. Inkheart and Inkspell are really good by Cornelia Funke ( luv the name!!! ) , as are the named, the dark, and the key, by Mariane Curley!.
The series of unfortuante events are great, by Lemony Snicket (again GREAT NAME!!), they are a series of 13 books (unlucky) bout three orphans!.
If you dont want a series, the Jacquline Wilson books are all good, especially kiss!. Meg Cabot writes well, and before I die by Jenny downam is an older audience book that is quite good!
Sorry for the long answer Im a bit of a book freak! If you had no ideas before, I hope I helped! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definatly the Harry Potter series, the first two aren't as good but stick with it and they are amazing! But the Subtle Knife and the Goldon Compass are also good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should read the second Golden Compass book - The Subtle Knife!. And then the third!. They're really good!. Even though the Narnia books are just as well good!. Then when (if) you read those you could read Eragon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
