Position:Home>Books & Authors> If you were banished to the moon tomorrow and could only take 5 books with you?Question: If you were banished to the moon tomorrow and could only take 5 books with you!? So, which ones will you take!?
Should be interesting!. EDIT: Saying Twilight or Harry Potter is a great way to not get 10 points!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman (counts as one) "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams "Neuromancer" by William Gibson "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas "Catch-22" by Joseph HellerWww@QuestionHome@Com -A guide to greenhouse farming so I won't starve!. -A space habitat repair and maintenance manual so if where I'm living breaks, I can fix it before it kills me!. -A book about spaceship design and flight book so I can build my own spaceship and fly it back to earth!. -A calculus textbook so I can check my math on stuff like the spaceship I'm building and the trajectory of re-entry and stuff like that!. -The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, just in case plan A (survive while you build a spaceship and get out of there) fails!. *Edit* The asker did not specify that they had to be specific books, or ones that even existed!. If I'm banished to the moon, and not left there to die of exposure (which I assume I am not, as there would be no point to bringing books otherwise), then rather obviously things like space habitats and spaceships would have to exist!. Therefore, instruction manuals and how-to books for them would likely exist as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yikes!. I've never had any desire to go to the moon, particularly if I can only take five books!. Who says I'm only allowed five books, anyway!? Let's see!. If I was being honest, I'd say that I don't need to take Harry Potter!. I've got the books nearly memorized!. So, that being said, I would take: 1!. My scriptures 2!. Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie 3!. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (Ironic, though, because I wouldn't need to worry about dysfunctional societies if I was an outcast on the moon!.) 4!. The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor!. It's a great fantasy book!. 5!. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If I were banished to the moon, the books would be pointless because I wouldn't be able to live there!. (I know, I know, this isn't meant to be rational!.) 1) Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, because every time I read I'm always discovering new things!. 2) The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, because it's my favorite book ever!. I couldn't not take it! 3) The Chronicles of Narnia, because I can reread them all the time and never get tired!. 4) Unfinished Tales by JRR Tolkien because I want to read it already and haven't gotten the chance yet!. 5) Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, because I'm in the middle of reading it and want to be able to finish!. ?M?Www@QuestionHome@Com I wonder what I did to get banished to the moon!.!.!. Anyway, it was tough to choose, but perhaps these would be my choices: 1!.) the Bible 2!.) The Hobbit by J!.R!.R!. Tolkien 3!.) The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkien (I'm going to count this as one book, because I do have a single book that is a collection of all three books in the trilogy) 4!.) Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery 5!.) Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift That list could very well change depending on the day and on my mood, but it would only change a little!. And if it were to change, I can see possibilities such as Watchers by Dean Koontz or a collection of H!.P!. Lovecraft's works being added to the list!. Best wishes!Www@QuestionHome@Com Wow, the moon !.!.!. 1!. The Bible to keep me from going freak!. Spiritual feeding!. 2!. LOTR, Hobbit, Unfinished Tales, and Simarillion (yes, they are all in one book, I have it) 3!. Complete Works of Jane Austen (Yes, one book!. I'm such a cheater) 4!. The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes 5!. I was divided whether I should bring Phantom of the Opera or Gone With the Wind and I couldn't decide so I'd have to say just a magic notebook that never ends so I can keep a journal!. LuthienTWww@QuestionHome@Com EXCELLENT question! Hmm, that's probably one of the toughest questions for me to answer, but the list would probably look something like this: 1!. The Time Machine - H!.G!. Wells 2!. Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen 3!. And There Were None - Agatha Christie 4!. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep!? - Philip K!. Dick 5!. Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier The last one is a toss up between Rebecca and either Sense & Sensibility or Jane Eyre!. All three have given me countless hours of enjoyment over the years, and I think I would have a hard time choosing between them!.!.!. Ultimately I would need a coin toss by some impartial third party to allow me to truly pick which one I would take along! Good luck and happy reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com ZOMGAH TWILIGHT! NEW MOON! ECLIPSE! BREAKING DAWN! AND MIDNIGHT SUN FOR SHUREE! just kidding!. 1) Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury 2) The Catcher in the Rye by J!.D!.
