Question: What are some classic books to read to (or be read by) children!?
I want to know some classic books, like Moby Dick, A Christmas Carol, etc, that I can read to a very smart 10 year old!.
I was thinking pre-20th century, but they don't have to be!.

black beauty is a good one!. also, there are lots of publishers out there that make versions of many classics geared towards a younger audience!. They have all of the shakespeare plays made for children, teens, and they even have them in comic book form now!.

A tree grows in brookyln is a really great classic book that can be read by a younger audience, its a really great book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The "fabulous five" novels by Enid Blighton!. I couldn't put them down when I was ten!. The characters were Julian, Anne,
their little brother and Cousin, Georgina and her dog!. There
are quite a few books in this series!.

Robinson Crusoe is another!. Any story featuring a boy shipwrecked on a south sea island and surviving cannibals!.
