J!.K!. Rowling was not exactly plagarized but the harry potter lexicon took all of her ideas from HP and was going to make encylopedias of them!. She took him to court but I'm not sure if there has been a verdict yet!. also, Jessica Seinfeld was accused of plagarizing a cookbook and using the ideas in her own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It always amazes me that George Orwell plagiarised heavily a novel (written in 1924, I think) by the Russian author Zamyatin called 'We' and noone seems to acknowledge this!. They go on about Orwell's genius and how he is one of the greatest novelist that England has come up with but they ignore the fact that he stole most of the plot and lots of the atmosphere for his book '1984' from Zamyatin!. It really does irritate me!. 'We' is a better novel too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I see alot Tolkien's work borrowed or stolen in other books!. Like giant spiders, black riders, dark lords, etc!. The "Elf" concept is also a bit of a rip-off!. Before Tolkien, elves were mischeivous little guy fairies!. Now they are a noble and beautiful forest race, strong in magic and craftsmanship!.
